The story behind Mama’s hat: she bgouht it from Biba, which was THE hip shop in South Kensington in the late sixties. A great place for me (17ish at the time) to shop with her since there were no dressing rooms and everyone (except my mum) just stripped off and walked around trying on new clothes… Remarkable.Laura Ashley was around the corner, and everyone was playing with fabrics and textures, paisleys and tie-dyes, leathers and feathers, …San Franciscans had flowers in their hair; Lucy in the Sky…It was a great time, and Mama bgouht such a fine hat.
